SVYCA Featured in APALI Youth Leadership Academy Civic Project Article!

Students from Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action were recently featured in an article about environmental justice, and specifically the disproportionate impact of the climate crisis on communities of color, written by young leaders in APALI: Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute.

A student team from the Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute’s 2023 Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) came together this summer to engage the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in environmental activism and issues. The students have interviewed members of Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action (SVYCA) members and other experienced leaders, accumulated several weeks' worth of research, attended the 2023 Annual SVYCA Youth Leadership Summit hosted at De Anza College’s Kirsch Center for Environmental Studies and participated in the Fridays for Future Climate Vigil based in Palo Alto.
